Во подглавјето „Македонски сонети“ може да се пронајде песната „Пред Беласица“ посветена на битката на Цар Самоил со Василиј II.

Поетот јасно истакнал во песната дека Самоил е македонски Цар или „македонски император“ како што тој го наведува во песната.

Подолу, во забелешките по (1) јасно е наведено дека под „македонски император“ се мисли на Самоил, а не на Василиј II.
